The commission process is designed to give you the personal service and custom artwork you’re looking for.
It is an opportunity for you, the collector to collaborate with me , the artist.
When commissioning a piece , please be clear on referencing work in my collection.
In the consultation we will discuss palette, size, style and time line to completion. Each commissioned piece is a one off unique creation, that is currently not available in my studio gallery, and as such requires a slightly different process.
Below you will find the agreement details that govern my commission work.

This is an agreement between me , The Artist , and you , The Collector
1: Description - Together we will discuss, (by phone , FaceTime, Zoom or in person), the description of the project. This will include, size, colours and materials. Please be sure to specifically reference work from my gallery and portfolio. This is a collaboration and to that end I welcome your input. I want you to love and adore the artwork and in order to produce a strong piece I need to feel that it is within my range to create it.
2: Payment Terms - 50% of the agreed price is due before work commences to cover The Artist’s investment of materials and time . I will do a materials cost estimate before I begin. Please note that even tho’ this may change as the work progresses it will not change the agreed upon , final price . The final payment is due upon approval of the work, not upon delivery.
3: Completion Deadline - this will be agreed upon , subject to materials used . On average , for acrylics , pastels , watercolours, inks, spray paints and mixed media, you could expect 6-12 weeks , depending upon size and composition. Oil paint however, takes a long time to dry and even though when dry, it’s ready to install , it should be given a final coat of varnish for archival fidelity , 9 months after the initial drying time .
4: Framing - this can be arranged at an additional cost. I am happy to advise you, as framing can really lift an artwork to the next level , and that’s what you want. Some art, painted on gallery dimension canvas for example, can be painted over the edges and doesn’t need framing. You may choose to frame it, but it’s not essential for it to hang appropriately.
5: Delivery - Local pick up is available. All shipping cost is the responsibility of The Collector. Works on paper can ship flat or rolled in a tube if appropriate. Works on canvas can be stretched over a timber frame or unstretched and shipped in a shipping tube.
6: Installation - is the responsibility of The Collector. I can help arrange a local vendor if that’s required. The art , if on canvas , and not being framed any further , will come complete with hanging hardware installed on the back, D-rings and strung.
7: Copyright - of this original work remains with The Artist and the image may not be reproduced without express permission and agreement . The Artist may use the image at their discretion.
